I am Mone't Smith, a licensed professional counselor who has been providing therapy services for over 5 years. I am licensed and trained to work with individuals, families, and groups in treating mental health and behavioral problems. My vast experiences include inpatient and outpatient mental health care, school counseling, grief counseling, individual sessions, group sessions in mental health and substance abuse, and family group sessions. I serve as a member of the Texas Counseling Association and a board member for the C3 Women's Network.
Our focus is to help individuals heal, energize, and become aware of their inner strengths. We use an eclectic therapeutic approach in order to meet the client’s direct needs, but our primary therapeutic use is evidence-based practice skills to include cognitive- behavioral therapy, mindfulness/ motivation, stress relief skills, client-centered therapy, and solution-focused counseling. I am trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapy. EMDR therapy is used to treat trauma, distressing life experiences, depression, and anxiety. I also believe in providing a safe space in the LGBTQIA affirming community.
I promise to be there for you every step of your journey. My goal is to help you grow from your struggles, help you heal from your deep rooted pain, and give you the push that you need in order to move forward in your life. I promise to provide each client with a neutral safe space, to also listen to your concerns, and customize the best treatment plan that will meet your needs.
